Obituary

Alfred G.Demoree age 78 of Linda Lane, died January 1, 2005 at the Huggins Hospital after a long and brave fight with lung cancer.

Born in Lynn, MA August 29, 1926 the son of the late Frank B. and Ida (Bartaletti) Demoree Sr. He lived in Lynn, MA for over 62 years prior to retiring to New Hampshire.

A united States Naval Veteran during world war II and the Korean war he served his country as a First Class Petty Officer Damage Control on the USS Carlisle later transferring to the United States Coast Gaurd also First Class Damage Control on the USS Dexter. After his Honorable Discharge he worked at Atwood and Morrill in Salem, MA for 32 years working his way through the ranks as a machinist. Known as the Wizard as he could fix just about anything.

While living in Massachusetts, he coached little league, was active in the scouts, a member of many square Dance clubs (the Yankee Twirlers, Seaside Steppers, Oxford Squares, Fairtown Squares, Candy Canes). He was a life member of VFW post 2346 in Saugus, MA. During his life Al was a Wonderful Ballroom Dancer, and also enjoyed Roller Skating, Bowling, Gambling, fishing and travel having made several trips across the United States in their motor home. After retiring to Sanbornville, NH Al belonged to Pairs & Spares of Sanbornville , member of the Wakefield and Wolfeboro Senior citizens, Wranglers of Wolfeboro. He volunteered at the Huggins Hospital, Mountain View Nursing Home, the Ledges.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Barbara A. (Hutchins) Demoree of Sanbornville, NH 1 son: William Demoree and his wife Joanne of Peabody, MA owner of C&C Lobster, 1 Daughter: Gail Watson and her husband Mark of Granite, NH , 3 Granddaughters: Casey and Courtney Demoree of Peabody, MA and Kate Watson of Granite, NH. 4 Sibblings: Jennie Ruggerio of Peabody, MA, Frank Demoree of Fort Myers, FL, Robert Demoree of Santa Maria, CA, Gloria Hackett of Glendora, CA, Predeacesed by 1 sister: Lena Gregg. He will be dearly missed by his companion and friend his dog Sailor.

A Graveside Funeral will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2005 at 12:00pm noontime at the Lindenwood Cemetery Montvale Avenue, Stoneham, MA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 360 Route 101 Suite 501 Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
