Janet S. Smith

Janet S. Smith, age 87 formerly of 280 Silver Street in Milton, died May 18, 2012 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Dover where she resided.

Born May 2, 1925 in Milton, NH, the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian (McCarthy) Williams, she was raised in Milton and had lived there most of her life.

A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

She had worked in many area shoe shops including Hubbard Shoe in Rochester and Alton Shoe in Farmington.

Janet enjoyed bingo, yard sales, and knitting.

She is survived by 5 children: George and his wife Linda Smith Jr. of Milton, William Smith of Conway, Irving Smith of Rochester, Roger and his wife Marie of Sanbornville, Donald Smith of Milton, 1 sister: Marilyn Pike of Milton, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband: George H. Smith Sr. 1984, and daughter: Elizabeth Webb Goodwin 2005.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:00am at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH with calling hour prior to the service from 10-11 am.
