John A. Fritz

East Wakefield, New Hampshire

John A. Fritz 92, died April 30, 2012.

Born in Saugus Massachusetts on 1/27/1920, he was the son of John A. Fritz Sr. and Lillian M. (Felch) Fritz

A Veteran of the United States Navy, he served during World War II and the Korean War.

John worked at the General Electric River Works plant in Lynn, MA, retiring in 1980 after 40 years of service. He lived in Lynn, MA for 32 years and retired to East Wakefield, NH in 1983, where he and his wife Ruth had many enjoyable years on the lake.

He was a life member of the Simadi Shrine Club, member Bektash and Scottish Rites, a 32nd Degree Mason with Unity Lodge #62 F.&A.M. in Union NH, Unity Fraternal Chapter #21 Order of the Eastern Star, Union NH, Wolfeboro Seniors, former member of Brookfield -Wakefield NH Seniors (was an active member of the Woodworking Shop), GENHAR NH GE retirees, a member of American Legion Post #6 for many years, a member of the Martins/Mariners Association/PBMs.

John was an avid Red Sox fan all his life, he enjoyed going to the casinos in Connecticut with his wife Ruth. He loved the outdoors, both fishing and hunting.

Survived by his wife of 66 years: Ruth (Vogler) Fritz, their son John Barry Fritz and wife Cookie of Peabody MA, their daughter Ruth Patricia Boyd and husband Raymond of Reading MA, 3 grandsons Dana Boyd of Reading MA, Andrew Fritz of Salem MA, Michael and wife Donna Fritz of Salem MA, 3 great grandchildren Jake, Sophia, and Jacquelyn Fritz, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters: Roslyn Jennings and Paula Owen, 2 brothers: Richard Fritz and Edward Fritz.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville (Wakefield), NH at 12 Noon, the calling hour is prior to the service from 10-12noon, with a Masonic Service at 11:45 am. Interment will follow with military honors at Lovell Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to: Unity Lodge #62 F.&A.M., PO Box 288, Sanbornville, NH 03872 or to Simadi Shrine Club, 847 Oak Hill Road, Sanbornville, NH 03872.
